At GRIPPS® we strongly advocate selecting products that adhere to widely recognised standards and guidelines whenever feasible. We follow rigorous testing and quality assurance/control protocols, and where applicable, ensure our products are certified as compliant.
Following are a range of standards and guidelines GRIPPS® uses as reference:
ANSI/ISEA 105-2016 outlines the classification and testing criteria for hand protection, specifically tailored for chemical and industrial applications. Hand
protection includes gloves, mittens, partial gloves, or comparable items designed to shield the hand or a part thereof against specific hazards. LEARN MORE
The ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard outlines essential criteria for “minimum design, performance, and labelling requirements for solutions aimed at reducing incidents
involving dropped objects in industrial and occupational environments.” LEARN MORE
AS 4991 – 2004 Lifting Devices specifies general requirements for the design, testing, marking and correct care and use of lifting devices that can be fitted
directly or indirectly to the hook or any other coupling device on a crane, hoist, or winch, as defined in AS 2549, without affecting its integrity. LEARN MORE
AS/NZS 2161.3:2020, Occupational Protective Gloves - Part 3: Protection against Mechanical Risks is a safety standard applicable to Australia and New Zealand
concerning hand protection in occupational settings. LEARN MORE
BS EN 1492-1 + A2:2008 specifies the requirements related to safety, including methods of rating and testing round slings up to 40 tonnes working load limit (in straight lift) and two-, three-, and four-leg round sling assemblies, with or without fittings, made of polyamide, polyester and polypropylene. LEARN MORE
The European Standard EN 388:2016+A1:2018 sets forth requirements for labelling safety gloves designed to mitigate mechanical risks in various work environments. It details specific testing methodologies that must be successfully completed prior to gloves being marketed within Europe. LEARN MORE
All GRIPPS® products are tested to ensure they are fit for purpose. Across the GRIPPS® range, many applicable standards and regulations are conformed to wherever possible.
The CE marking can only be affixed if the product complies with specific European Union (EU) regulations. If the product is not within the scope of those EU regulations, it is unlawful to affix the CE marking.
Some GRIPPS products, like gloves, do fall under the PPE directive and can be tested to conform to CE regulations. Other products, including tool anchors, tool tethers, tool belts and holsters, encapsulation products, and lifting bags, do not fall within the scope of a specific EU regulation. Therefore, it would be illegal to apply the CE mark to these products.
The ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard outlines prerequisites for 'minimum design, performance, and labeling requirements for solutions that reduce dropped objects incidents in industrial and occupational settings.' The U.S. national standard ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 was written by the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), an ANSI-accredited standards developing organization. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is responsible for the management of standards and conformity assessment activities in the United States. When it comes to working at heights, using products that meet the ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard will help provide a greater degree of trust in product performance than those without this standard. At GRIPPS, wherever possible, we recommend choosing products that comply with this widely recognized standard. The standard provides minimum requirements related to anchor attachments, tool attachments, tool tethers, and containers used to prevent dropped objects in the workplace.
